This circular backing plate provides structural reinforcement and load distribution behind a compression handle installation. It prevents the handle's mounting screws or bolts from pulling through thin or flexible surfaces such as fiberglass, composite panels, or aluminum hatches.
The 3/16" lip depth is designed for thinner deck and hatch materials, ensuring the plate sits properly without protruding excessively while maintaining a secure fit.
It enhances the compression mechanism's effectiveness by creating a stable base, allowing the handle to apply even pressure for a tight, rattle-free seal that reduces noise, vibration, and water ingress.
Suitable for use with Whitecap compression handles on boat hatches, access panels, storage compartments, engine covers, deck plates, and other marine closures where durable, corrosion-resistant reinforcement is required.
